So what is the point?
That is both a very simple and a very complicated question. Long story short the goal is to help people and dogs.
There are many ways that I could help people local to me if given the chance but what I really want is to make a more lasting impression on the dog care world.
This new and (hopefully) improved “The Dog Standard” is my way of getting as much information to as many people as possible. It is my hope that through this blog I can improve the lives of as many dogs around the world as possible by educating their owners as much as possible.
There have been many iterations of this blog with different names, goals and levels of success. These different variations have come about as I have grown and changed both personally and professionally. I have suffered several setbacks over the years not helped by the pandemic but I have still strived to succeed… without much success. And after some personal setbacks and realisations over the last year or 2, I have decided to charter myself a new course. A new route through life in which I control the pace and workload, where my mental and physical health will come above anything else. And so it is with open arms that I welcome you to the new The Dog Standard.
So please join me and help me spread all the knowledge that I can gather so that together we can improve the lives of dogs around the world one tip or trick at a time.
Dog ownership and training does not have to be hard but it does require consistency and understanding. Dogs are amazingly adaptable beings, with different breeds requiring different types of care, this means that no matter the home circumstances there is almost certainly a dog out there for everyone if they are willing to put the work in to get that dog ready for the new life.
On this site, you will (eventually) be able to find all sorts of tips and tricks to help you and your dog settle and adapt to each other. From tips as to how to integrate a new dog into a home with an existing dog, to tricks on how to get your dog to walk nicely on a lead. The Dos and Don’ts of dog training and ownership all in one easy-to-understand place.
The more traction this site can get the more accessible the information can be with goals to start a podcast for those who find it difficult to read the information and would rather hear it. And a YouTube channel for those who cannot translate the written word into action and need a visual guide as well (don’t worry I am often faced with the same problem).
The Dog Standard is here to help anyone and everyone we can. If you have a topic that you would like to know more about don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to get you the relevant information in your desired format.
I would, once again, like to thank you for joining us on this journey and would like to point you in the direction of our social media (Facebook and Instagram) to get notifications for new posts and fun factoids and content between posts and our Mailing List so you can get an email whenever a new post is live and to be notified of special events or goals reach.
